Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology

The Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology requires a total of 280 credit points and can be completed in 2 years and 4 months across 7 semesters. Students complete three Core Curriculum subjects covering Critical Thinking and Communication, Responsibility, Integrity and Civic Discourse, and Collaboration for Global Change, along with the compulsory Beyond Bond Program, which develops practical employability and professional skills. The remaining curriculum consists of 250 credit points of required subjects focused on exercise science, physiology, anatomy, biomechanics, health, research, professional practice, and clinical application. In the early stages, students study Systems Anatomy, Physical Activity and Health, Introductory Exercise Physiology, Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Biomechanics Principles, Motor Learning and Control, and Research Principles in Exercise Physiology. They progressively develop practical skills through Assessment, Prescription and Delivery of Exercise subjects, covering exercise assessment and intervention across different needs. Later subjects include Ageing, Exercise and Nutrition, Advanced Exercise Physiology, Behaviour Change and Mental Health Implications, Occupational Rehabilitation and Workplace Assessment, and Entrepreneurship and Marketing in Health. The program also places strong emphasis on professional and clinical experience through Exercise Science Professional Practice, Professional Practice in Exercise Physiology, and Clinical Professional Practice subjects, including two 20-credit-point clinical placements. Overall, the curriculum combines scientific foundations, practical exercise prescription, clinical training, research, rehabilitation, professional development, and real-world experience to prepare students for future roles in exercise science and clinical exercise physiology.
