COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Science (Advanced) in Theoretical Physics at The Australian National University is a 96-unit program designed to provide advanced training in the mathematical and conceptual foundations of modern physics, alongside substantial research experience. The degree combines 72 units of coursework with a 24-unit research project, ensuring students develop both deep theoretical understanding and the ability to apply it in original research contexts. Core courses include Quantum Field Theory, General Relativity, Advanced Mathematical Methods in Physics, and Nonlinear Dynamics, which together form the backbone of contemporary theoretical physics.
