COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of International Business at ANU requires completion of 144 units designed to build expertise in global business, management, and cross-cultural engagement. Students must complete a maximum of 60 units at the 1000-level, at least 18 units of 3000-level courses in BUSI or MGMT, and a minimum of 12 units in Transdisciplinary Problem-Solving courses. The program includes 36 units of core compulsory courses covering International Business, International Strategic Management, Business Reporting and Analysis, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Quantitative Research Methods. Students also complete at least 6 units from advanced transdisciplinary options such as Export Business Planning or International Human Resource Management. The degree offers structured pathways focused on Asian, European, or Middle Eastern business contexts. In the Asian stream, students study Asian business dynamics and complete 36 units of a single Asian language, alongside related regional studies. In the European stream, students combine European business courses with history or politics subjects and a European language. In the Middle Eastern stream, students study regional business, political economy, and a Middle Eastern language. The program also allows limited electives across disciplines such as anthropology, international relations, and sociology. Additionally, students may complete internships, industry projects, or internships as part of transdisciplinary learning. Capstone courses in export planning and international HRM integrate learning. Overall, the degree prepares graduates for global careers in multinational corporations, international organisations, consulting, trade, and diplomacy.
