COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Professional Accounting curriculum is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in accounting, finance, law, and data analysis, while progressively developing advanced professional competencies required in contemporary accounting practice. At the foundational level, students study accounting for managers, financial accounting and reporting, economics, and business finance, gaining essential knowledge for informed financial decision-making. Data analytics and statistical analysis equip learners with the quantitative and analytical skills needed to interpret financial and business data, while business and company law provides a clear understanding of the legal frameworks governing organisations. At the advanced level, the program focuses on management accounting, corporate accounting, and accounting information systems, enabling students to analyse complex financial information and support strategic business planning. Auditing and assurance studies develop an understanding of accountability, risk management, and professional standards, while taxation law strengthens knowledge of regulatory compliance and taxation principles. The curriculum culminates in a work integrated learning unit, which allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world professional environment through a workplace placement or industry-based project. Together, these units ensure graduates develop strong technical expertise, analytical capability, and practical experience, preparing them for professional accounting roles and progression within the accounting profession.
