COURSE CURRICULUM

The Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting is structured across three study periods to ensure a progressive development of accounting, finance, and business knowledge. In Study Period 1, students build a strong foundation in core business and financial concepts through units in accounting for managers, economics, and business finance and decision making, equipping them with the skills needed to support managerial and strategic decisions. Study Period 2 focuses on analytical and regulatory competencies, with students undertaking data analytics and statistical analysis to strengthen quantitative decision-making skills, alongside business and company law to develop an understanding of legal and corporate governance frameworks. During this period, students also select an elective from an AQF Level 8 stream, allowing for early specialisation aligned with career goals. In Study Period 3, learners complete financial accounting and reporting, developing advanced knowledge of financial statements, reporting standards, and compliance requirements. A second AQF Level 8 elective further enhances specialised expertise in areas such as business management or small to medium enterprise practice. This structured progression ensures graduates develop comprehensive technical skills, analytical capability, and applied business knowledge, preparing them for professional accounting roles across diverse industries.
