Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Philosophy

The Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Philosophy is a four-year double degree combining two areas of Theology with a specialised Philosophy major, providing students with a broad interdisciplinary education. Students choose a primary Theology major in either Biblical Studies or Christian Thought and a second Theology major in another area, while completing a Philosophy major throughout the program. In the first year, students begin foundational 100-level units in both Theology majors and Philosophy, supported by an elective and a Core Curriculum unit. During the second year, students continue developing their knowledge through intermediate-level subjects across both Theology majors and Philosophy, with additional electives providing flexibility to explore areas of personal interest. In the third year, students progress to more advanced Theology and Philosophy units and complete a second Core Curriculum unit, alongside further electives. The fourth year focuses on advanced study across all three majors, allowing students to deepen their understanding of theological and philosophical concepts. Students also complete Christian Community Engagement, providing practical experience and opportunities to apply their knowledge in a community context. The program concludes with the Integrated Study in Theology and Philosophy, which allows students to undertake focused research connecting their theological and philosophical studies. Overall, the curriculum develops critical thinking, analytical reasoning, research, communication, ethical understanding, and interdisciplinary skills, preparing graduates for diverse professional and further academic opportunities.
