Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Global Studies

The Bachelor of Theology/Bachelor of Global Studies is a four-year double degree combining theological education with global studies and international experience. In the first year, students begin a major and minor in either Biblical Studies or Christian Thought while studying Global History, international relations or global politics, Global Society and Change or Sustainability, and a Core Curriculum unit. The second year develops these areas through intermediate-level Theology subjects, additional major and minor units, and Global Studies electives or minor subjects. In the third year, students complete advanced Theology major units alongside the Global Studies Research Project and a second Core Curriculum unit. A key feature of the program is the third-year international experience, where students can choose between a Global Study Abroad program, a Global Studies International Internship, or the Rome Semester Program. This provides valuable international exposure and opportunities to develop professional, intercultural, and practical skills. In the fourth year, students complete advanced Theology major units, Christian Community Engagement, further Theology and Global Studies electives or minors, and the Integrated Study in Theology and Philosophy unit. Overall, the curriculum combines theology, global studies, cultural understanding, research, community engagement, and international learning, allowing students to develop a broad interdisciplinary education and prepare for professional opportunities in an increasingly interconnected global environment.
