The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Social and Environmental Sustainability double degree combines practical business knowledge with a strong understanding of sustainability, society and environmental challenges. Across four years, students develop business expertise through major units alongside specialised studies in environmental humanities, geography, sociology and sustainability. The program begins with foundational subjects such as Financial Literacy, Information Technology in Action, Environmental Humanities and Exploring Natural Environments, before progressing into areas including marketing, business law, people management and global society. Sustainability-focused studies explore topics such as literature and the environment, climate change, environmental sociology, global consumption and sustainable cities and communities. Students also develop valuable research and analytical capabilities through subjects such as Meaning of Life: Researching Qualitatively, Mapping for a Complex World and People Count: Researching Globally with Quantitative Methods. The course incorporates Core Curriculum studies and a Social Impact in Action unit, supporting students to connect academic knowledge with community engagement and real-world issues. The combination of business strategy, sustainability, social sciences and environmental studies prepares graduates to understand how organisations can operate responsibly while addressing complex global challenges.
