COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Business with a Human Resource Management major combines a strong understanding of human behaviour with practical knowledge of business and people management. Across four years, students develop a foundation in psychology through subjects such as Foundations of Psychology, Psychological Practice, Applications of Psychology, Life Span Development, Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, Psychological Assessment, Brain and Behaviour, Cognitive Psychology and Learning and Behaviour. Research skills are progressively developed through three Research Design and Data Analysis units, while the Psychological Services Experience provides practical exposure to professional applications. Alongside psychology, students study essential business areas including Financial Literacy, Marketing Essentials, Managing People and Organisations, Information Technology in Action, Business Law and Design Thinking for Business Strategy. The Human Resource Management major provides specialised knowledge across eight major units, developing skills relevant to recruitment, employee relations, organisational development, workforce management and strategic human resources. Core Curriculum units further support broader academic and professional development. This combination enables students to understand employee behaviour, motivation, workplace relationships and organisational performance from both psychological and business perspectives. Graduates can pursue opportunities in human resource management, recruitment, organisational development, employee wellbeing, training and development, business administration and related professional fields, while the psychology component also provides a foundation for optional postgraduate study in psychology.
