COURSE CURRICULUM
The Bachelor of Psychological Science/Bachelor of Arts curriculum is a four-year program combining comprehensive psychological science with broad arts studies, providing students with knowledge of human behaviour, research, critical thinking, communication, and ethical practice. In Year 1, students establish foundations through psychology subjects covering psychological theory, practice, applications, research design, and data analysis, alongside major, minor, and core curriculum studies in the arts. Year 2 develops deeper psychological knowledge through lifespan development, abnormal psychology, social psychology, and advanced research methods, while students continue progressing through their chosen arts major, minor, and electives. In Year 3, students explore personality and individual differences and undertake advanced research design and data analysis, while continuing their arts studies. The Psychological Services Experience provides valuable community engagement and practical exposure, complemented by a psychology elective. Year 4 focuses on advanced areas including psychological assessment, brain and behaviour, cognitive psychology, and learning and behaviour, while students complete higher-level arts major subjects, electives, and core curriculum requirements. Across the degree, students progressively develop skills in research methodology, statistical analysis, psychological assessment, evidence evaluation, problem-solving, communication, and ethical decision-making. The combination of psychology and arts provides a broad and flexible educational foundation, preparing graduates to understand individual and social behaviour and apply their knowledge across diverse environments. Graduates can pursue opportunities in community services, education, government, business, human resources, research, and not-for-profit organisations, while further study may support professional psychology pathways subject to relevant requirements.
