COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Nutrition Science/Bachelor of Business combines scientific nutrition expertise with practical business knowledge, providing a well-rounded foundation for careers across health, food, public health and commercial industries. The four-year program begins with core nutrition subjects such as Human Biology, Introduction to Nutrition and Culinary Nutrition Science, alongside business foundations in Managing People and Organisations, Marketing Essentials, Financial Literacy and Information Technology. Students progressively develop scientific knowledge through Pathophysiology, Nutritional Physiology, Chemistry and Biochemistry, while health-focused subjects such as Epidemiology, Foundations of Health Promotion, Public Health Research Methods, Lifespan Nutrition and Diet, Health and Disease build an understanding of nutrition across individuals and communities. Food-related studies including Food, Society and the Environment, Food Science in Practice and Food Product Design and Development provide practical knowledge of food systems, product development and sustainability. The business component develops complementary skills through Design Thinking for Business Strategy, Business Law, Economics, Organisational Behaviour, Product Marketing and Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Strategic Management. Students also undertake Core Curriculum studies and a community engagement component, connecting academic learning with real-world applications. Through this interdisciplinary structure, graduates gain the ability to understand nutritional science while also recognising the organisational, financial, marketing and strategic factors influencing the health and food sectors. The qualification can support careers in industry, public service, health promotion, food businesses and small business enterprises.
