Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Global Studies

The Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Global Studies is a four-year double degree that allows students to complete two Arts majors alongside a comprehensive Global Studies curriculum. In the first year, students begin introductory units in both Arts majors while studying Global Political Challenges or The History and Politics of Secrecy, Global History, Global Society and Change or Sustainability, and a Core Curriculum unit. The second year develops students’ knowledge through intermediate-level units in both Arts majors, supported by Global Studies electives or minor units and an Arts elective. In the third year, students progress to higher-level Arts major subjects and complete the Global Studies Research Project, together with a second Core Curriculum unit. A key feature of the program is the international study experience in Semester 2 of the third year. Students can complete four Global Study Abroad units, a Global Studies International Internship, or the Rome Semester Program, providing valuable international exposure and professional experience. In the fourth year, students complete advanced 300-level units in both Arts majors, along with a Global Studies elective or minor and the Social Impact in Action community engagement unit. Overall, the curriculum combines specialised Arts knowledge with global perspectives, research, international experience, community engagement, and interdisciplinary learning, preparing graduates for diverse careers involving communication, social issues, international affairs, creative industries, research, and global organisations.
