COURSE CURRICULUM
The Master of Project Management and Business at APIC is structured to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in contemporary project and portfolio management. To qualify for the award, students must complete twelve units, equivalent to 96 credit points, comprising eight core units, three specialisation units, and one elective unit from approved options. The core curriculum establishes foundational expertise in key project management areas, beginning with Project Management Profession, Enterprise and Resource Planning, Project Constraint Management, and Procurement, Quality and Risk Management. These units provide students with a strong understanding of professional standards, planning, resource allocation, and risk mitigation within project environments. Building on this foundation, students progress to advanced topics through Project Delivery and Procurement and Project Integration and Change Management, which emphasise the coordination of complex projects, management of change, and strategic alignment of project objectives with organisational goals. Research Methodology and Data Analysis equips students with analytical and investigative skills required for evidence-based decision making and applied project research. The program culminates in the Applied Project, providing an opportunity for students to synthesise their learning and demonstrate practical competencies in planning, executing, and evaluating real-world projects. Each core unit carries eight credit points, representing 0.167 Equivalent Full-Time Student Load (EFTSL), and prerequisites are structured to ensure progressive learning and mastery of essential concepts before undertaking advanced coursework. Alongside the core units, students complete three specialisation units tailored to their chosen pathway, enabling focused expertise in areas such as ICT Project Management or industry-specific project practices. One elective unit offers flexibility for students to explore additional interests or emerging industry trends. Overall, the course structure is designed to produce graduates who are strategically capable, technically proficient, and industry-ready, prepared to lead projects, manage resources effectively, and contribute to organisational success across diverse sectors.To qualify for the Master of Project Management and Business (MPMB), students must complete a total of 12 units, equivalent to 96 credit points, comprising eight core units, three specialisation units, and one elective. Each unit carries 8 credit points. The core units provide foundational and advanced knowledge in project management, including project management profession, enterprise and resource planning, project constraint management, procurement, quality and risk management, project delivery and procurement, project integration and change management, research methodology and data analysis, and an applied project. Some units require prerequisites, such as prior completion of specific subjects or a minimum number of credit points. The Health Management specialisation includes three units focused on the healthcare sector: the Australian healthcare system and its contemporary challenges, governance, safety and quality in healthcare, and evidence-based practice in healthcare. These units equip students with sector-specific knowledge to manage healthcare-related projects effectively. In addition, students must choose one elective from a range of options, including venture and project economics and finance, business strategy management, strategic portfolio management, enterprise operations management, business law, enterprise information systems, and international business, some of which have prerequisite requirements. This structure ensures a balanced combination of core competencies, specialised knowledge, and flexible learning options.
