COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Business Analytics is structured to guide students from foundational knowledge through advanced application and professional practice. At the foundation stage, students are introduced to key concepts that establish the relationship between business strategy and analytics. Units such as Business Analytics Fundamentals, Business Strategy and Analytics, and Ethics and Privacy in Business Analytics provide the basis for responsible, data-driven decision making. Technical and methodological skills are also developed through units in Data Mining and Machine Learning, Systems Analysis and Design, Enterprise Architecture and Artificial Intelligence, Business Process Reengineering and Software Engineering, and MIS and Business Systems Planning. Each unit carries ten credit points, offering both theoretical and practical grounding. At the intermediate stage, the program shifts toward more advanced tools and techniques that support effective business intelligence. Students take Advanced SQL and Data Warehousing, which builds on earlier fundamentals, along with units in Business Intelligence and Reporting, Cloud Computing and Data Services, and Predictive Analytics and Forecasting. Together, these units deepen the ability to manage data, generate insights, and apply analytics to complex business challenges. In the final stage, students focus on advanced applications, research, and practical integration of skills. Big Data Analytics and Advanced Data Visualisation equip students to work with large and complex datasets, while the Research Project in Business Analytics enables them to apply independent inquiry and demonstrate mastery of advanced analytical techniques. The capstone unit, Work Integrated Learning, requires prior completion of Ethics and Privacy in Business Analytics, ensuring students enter professional practice with a strong ethical foundation. Each advanced unit also carries ten credit points, reinforcing the balance of technical expertise and professional readiness. By progressing through these stages, graduates are prepared to become leaders in data-driven decision making, digital transformation, and business innovation.
