The Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) requires completion of 192 units and is a structured, research-intensive science degree. Students can take up to 60 units of 1000-level courses and must complete at least 12 units in Transdisciplinary Problem-Solving subjects. A minimum of 132 units must come from science-related disciplines such as Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Neuroscience, Health Sciences, Environmental Science, and related fields, including at least 30 units at 3000-level. At least 6 units must be dedicated to quantitative research skills courses, which may be selected from approved biology, psychology, environmental science, statistics, or mathematics subjects. The program also includes 36 units of Advanced Studies, including ASC and ASE courses, and 48 units from an Honours specialisation such as Physics, Computer Science, Biology, Mathematics, or Psychology Honours. Students must maintain strong academic performance, including a minimum 75% weighted average after the first year of study to remain in the program. Progression into Honours requires completion of 144 units with at least a 70% weighted average in relevant courses, along with meeting specialisation requirements. To graduate with the Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours), students must achieve at least 80% in their final Honours year; lower results lead to exit awards such as Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Science (Advanced) (Honours). The degree also includes 48 units of electives, allowing additional academic flexibility and breadth.
