Course Curriculum

The Diploma of Business at Griffith College is structured over two trimesters, providing students with a strong foundation in core business concepts and practical skills. In the first trimester, students undertake key subjects such as Academic and Professional Skills Development, The Purpose of Business, The Future of Work, and Business Decision-Making. These subjects introduce students to fundamental areas of business, including organisational purpose, future trends in the workplace, and critical decision-making processes. Students who enter the program with an IELTS score below 6.0 or equivalent are required to complete free Language Development Modules to support their academic language proficiency.In the second trimester, the program builds on the foundational knowledge by exploring broader global and financial themes. Subjects include Grand Challenges for Business, which looks at large-scale global issues and their impact on business; Engaging Australia and the Asia-Pacific, which examines regional business dynamics; Why Money Matters, which introduces core financial principles; and Application Systems, a subject that develops students' understanding of digital tools used in modern business environments.This sample structure is designed to equip students with a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It supports the development of leadership, financial literacy, and technological awareness, all of which are essential in today’s competitive business world. Upon completion, students are well-prepared to progress into the second year of a business degree at Griffith University and choose from a wide range of majors, including Financial Planning, Event Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Real Estate and Property Development.
