Course Curriculum

Flinders University offers a suite of Clinical Education postgraduate courses designed to support health and social care practitioners in advancing their expertise in education. These programs provide the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to improve the delivery of health and clinical education, evaluate and enhance learning practices, undertake clinical education research, and lead educational initiatives within health service and social care settings.The Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education consists of four topics and focuses on the applied aspects of teaching, aiming to improve the delivery of health and clinical education across diverse settings. Building on this, the Graduate Diploma in Clinical Education comprises eight topics and emphasises developing the knowledge and skills required to evaluate, enhance, and innovate health and clinical education programs effectively.The Master of Clinical Education (Coursework) expands on the Graduate Certificate and Diploma, with twelve topics designed to prepare health professionals to lead education in a variety of environments and systems. Graduates gain advanced capabilities in curriculum design, teaching strategies, assessment, and leadership, enabling them to influence learning outcomes and drive educational improvements within their organisations.For practitioners focused on advancing knowledge through research, the Master of Clinical Education (Research) offers a higher degree by research. This program is aimed exclusively at health professionals who wish to contribute to the specialist body of knowledge in clinical education by undertaking a significant research project. Graduates develop the expertise to generate evidence-based insights that inform educational practices and policy development.Across all award levels, the programs integrate theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing graduates to be reflective, competent, and innovative educators. Students are equipped to deliver high-quality education, apply research to inform teaching, and lead initiatives that improve learning outcomes for health professionals, students, and ultimately the patients and communities they serve.
