Students may also broaden their expertise by selecting topics from related disciplines, including environmental studies and tourism.A central feature of the program is the opportunity to undertake a substantial independent research project (thesis) under the guidance of experienced academic archaeologists. This allows students to investigate areas of personal or professional interest, refine their research skills, and make a significant contribution to the field of archaeology and heritage management.The program places strong emphasis on practical experience, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for professional practice. Students gain hands-on training in research methods and fieldwork, including archaeological survey and excavation, laboratory analysis, archival and oral history research, and the application of geomatics and digital technologies in archaeology.
