Course Curriculum

The Master of Public Health at Flinders University equips students with the knowledge and skills to apply primary health care principles in order to reduce inequalities in healthcare access and improve population health outcomes. The program emphasises the integration of public health values and practices that address inequities and promote wellbeing across diverse communities.Students explore key topics such as action on social determinants of health, understanding the social determinants of health and wellbeing, and critical practice in Indigenous health. Through these studies, graduates learn to design, implement, and evaluate health programs and policies that are culturally responsive, evidence-based, and effective in improving community health. The curriculum fosters an understanding of multidisciplinary approaches, community participation, and the practical application of public health strategies to real-world challenges.By blending theory with practical application, the Master of Public Health prepares health professionals to lead change, develop innovative solutions to reduce disparities, and positively impact population health at local, national, and global levels. Graduates are equipped to address contemporary health issues, advocate for equitable health systems, and contribute to sustainable improvements in health outcomes for individuals and communities.
