Through this integration of theory, research and practice, students develop expertise in areas such as counselling and professional issues, clinical child psychology, cognitive behaviour therapy, psychological assessment, abnormal psychology, psychopharmacology, and research methods. Graduates of the program meet the requirements for general registration as psychologists with the Psychology Board of Australia and are eligible for membership with the Australian Psychological Society (APS). After completing the necessary post-degree supervision requirements, graduates may also qualify for membership with the APS College of Clinical Psychologists and practise as fully recognised clinical psychologists under national registration standards.
