Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Science at Flinders University provides a flexible and comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for a wide range of careers in science, research, and industry. In the first year, students undertake a range of foundational subjects designed to introduce them to key scientific disciplines while preparing them for specialisation in later years. These may include chemical sciences, nanotechnology, animal biology, marine biology, environmental science, and more. During this stage, students continue to develop research skills through independent or collaborative research projects, applying their knowledge to real-world problems and gaining practical experience that enhances both technical competence and professional readiness.The honours year provides an opportunity for advanced, specialised study. Students undertake an individually supervised research project, allowing them to explore a specific scientific question in depth. They present the results of their research in a thesis and seminar, developing expertise in scientific communication, project management, and critical analysis.
