Course Curriculum

This three-year program in business and accounting is designed to progressively build foundational knowledge, practical skills, and professional expertise. In the first year, students focus on core topics that introduce the fundamentals of business and accounting, including business transactions, accounting processes, economic environments, and the impact of fintech on modern finance. Additional areas of study include coding for business, data analysis, and sustainability through transforming business towards net zero, alongside one elective option to explore individual interests. The second year deepens accounting and business knowledge with topics such as accounting standards, corporate law, costing for managers, business finances, and accounting for corporations. Students also develop resilience and professional skills essential for the workplace and continue with one elective option for further personalisation of their studies. In the third year, the focus shifts toward advanced accounting and strategic business competencies, including taxation systems, auditing and assurance, financial statement analysis, and strategy for business transformation. Students select three elective topics to tailor their expertise to their career goals, alongside flexible core options that provide hands-on industry experience. This may involve an industry placement or engagement projects with industry partners, ensuring students gain practical insights and real-world experience. Across all three years, the curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing graduates to navigate complex financial environments, adopt emerging technologies, and contribute meaningfully to organisational decision-making.
