Course Curriculum

The Diploma of Health Science is a two-stage program designed to build foundational knowledge and skills for students pursuing careers in health-related fields. Year 1 consists of eight units completed over two or three trimesters, focusing on core academic and employability skills. These include communication skills, introductory computing, introductory mathematics, workplace communication, and project management, along with three electives that allow students to tailor their learning experience. In Year 2, the course progresses with eight units completed over two semesters, emphasizing anatomy and physiology, psychology, and statistics, which provide essential scientific and analytical foundations. Additionally, students study lifespan growth and development, cultural studies, health research methodology, and the foundations of fitness and training. This comprehensive curriculum is structured to scaffold learning, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to progress in health science careers or further study.
