Course Curriculum

The Diploma of Commerce (Year 1) consists of eight units and can be completed over two or three trimesters. It focuses on scaffolded learning to develop core academic and employability skills. Students study five core units: Communication Skills, Introductory Computing, Introductory Mathematics, Workplace Communication – Employability, and Project Management. In addition to these, students choose three electives from a recommended list. Successfully completing Year 1 provides entry into Year 2 of the Diploma of Commerce. Year 2 also includes eight units that can be completed over two or three trimesters. The core units cover foundational business topics such as Foundations of Business, Introduction to Business Analytics, Business Environments and Markets, Ethics and Responsibility in Business, Work and Career, Accounting and Finance Essentials, and Professional and Academic Communication. Students are also required to select one elective unit to complement their studies. The program is designed to build on Year 1 knowledge, preparing students for further specialization and career readiness within various business disciplines.
