Discover how each program is uniquely designed to inspire learning

To complete the Master of Construction Management (Professional) at Deakin University, students must successfully complete either 8, 12, or 16 credit points, depending on their entry qualifications and prior learning. The full 16-credit point course structure includes three compulsory 0-credit-point units: DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, SRA710 Safety Induction Program, and STP710 Career Tools for Employability. In addition to these, students must complete 14 credit points of core units that cover essential areas of construction management, providing a comprehensive foundation in both theory and practice. The remaining 2 credit points can be fulfilled through elective study, which offers flexibility to tailor the course to individual interests or career goals. These may include two level 7 open elective units or four 0.5-credit-point Deakin stackable short courses (microcredentials), allowing students to explore specific topics or gain niche skills. Most standard units are worth one credit point, with microcredentials contributing 0.5 credit points each. Full-time students typically enrol in four credit points per trimester and complete two trimesters per year. This structured yet flexible course design ensures that graduates develop a well-rounded skill set, preparing them to take on advanced roles within the construction industry.
