Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Public Health and Health Promotion at Deakin University requires students to complete 24 credit points to graduate. This includes 17 credit points of core units that build foundational and advanced knowledge in public health and health promotion, covering topics like epidemiology, policy, communication strategies, and program evaluation. In addition to the core units, students must complete 7 credit points of open elective units, allowing them to tailor their studies to align with personal interests or career goals. A compulsory, non-credit-point unit titled Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin (DAI001) must be completed in the first study period. Students are also subject to course-level rules, including a maximum of 10 credit points at level 1, ensuring sufficient academic progression, and a minimum of 14 credit points must be completed at level 2 or higher. Additionally, students must complete at least 6 credit points at level 3, ensuring that they graduate with an advanced understanding of the field. Most units are worth one credit point each.
