Course Curriculum

To successfully complete the Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Business Analytics double degree, students must pass a total of 32 credit points. This includes the compulsory zero-credit unit DAI001 Academic Integrity and Respect at Deakin, which is required in the first study period. The degree is structured with an equal split between the two disciplines, requiring 16 credit points from each. Within the Bachelor of Commerce, students must complete 8 core units and one major comprising 8 credit points, along with a minimum of 4 credit points at level 3 from the Faculty of Business and Law to ensure academic progression and depth. For the Bachelor of Business Analytics, the structure includes 14 core units, excluding MIS171, which forms the backbone of the program's analytical and technical focus. Additionally, students must complete 1 credit point from a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) unit or an approved international learning experience, providing valuable real-world exposure. One credit point of open electives allows for customization of the study experience. It is essential that all course requirements for both degrees—the Bachelor of Commerce (M300) and the Bachelor of Business Analytics (M340)—are fully satisfied. Most units are worth one credit point each. A full-time study load typically consists of four credit points per trimester, with students usually enrolling in two trimesters per year. This academic plan allows students to complete the double degree in a manageable timeframe while gaining strong business knowledge alongside advanced analytical skills. The program is designed to equip graduates with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions, preparing them for a wide range of careers in the data-driven economy.
