Course Curriculum

Graduates of this design degree will be equipped to apply discipline-specific knowledge to critically review, analyse and consolidate information, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to evidence-based practice within their chosen design field. They will demonstrate strong cognitive and technical skills, supported by a broad understanding of design principles and in-depth expertise in at least one design discipline. Students will be able to confidently select, use and evaluate a range of design technologies and media platforms to produce effective and innovative design solutions. Effective communication is a core outcome of the course, with graduates demonstrating the ability to present ideas clearly through visual, spoken, written and technical forms that are appropriate to professional design contexts, alongside well-developed self-directed learning skills. The course also fosters personal awareness of design practice, encouraging sustained engagement with contemporary creative industries, emerging technologies and evolving professional standards. Graduates will develop the capacity to anticipate and evaluate future trends that may influence design and design practice, supporting adaptability in a rapidly changing industry. A strong emphasis is placed on social responsibility, with students recognising the importance of ethical practice, cultural diversity and both local and international perspectives in design activities, studio work and production processes. Intercultural awareness and understanding are embedded throughout the program, strengthening graduates’ personal and professional capabilities, including leadership potential. Finally, students will be prepared to work both independently and collaboratively, responding effectively to project requirements and contributing professionally to diverse design teams and environments.
