Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Geology equips students with the knowledge and skills to apply fundamental geological principles in a variety of theoretical, practical, and vocational contexts. Graduates learn to address complex challenges in mineral and energy exploration, environmental management, and sustainability by employing creative thinking, analytical reasoning, and the extrapolation and interpolation of geoscience data. Throughout the course, students develop the ability to collate, synthesise, and visualise geological data using advanced digital technologies, and communicate their findings effectively to industry professionals, stakeholders, and communities through written, visual, and verbal means appropriate to each situation. The program emphasises the recognition of the finite nature of Earth’s resources and the importance of mitigating social, environmental, and geohazard risks associated with exploration and extraction activities. Students are encouraged to integrate sustainable practices into their work, incorporating environmental, Indigenous, and community perspectives to ensure responsible resource management.
