Course Curriculum

The Master of Professional Information Technology at Charles Sturt University is a 128-credit point program designed to provide international students with a strong foundation and advanced knowledge in key areas of the IT industry. The course structure includes four core subjects worth 32 credit points, which cover essential topics such as ICT project management, IT ethics, IT fundamentals, and database systems. Each specialisation offers targeted expertise, such as developing AI-based business applications, enhancing cyber security capabilities, working with big data, managing network infrastructures, or mastering software programming and development. The course also includes 32 credit points of professional practice subjects, which help students develop workplace-ready skills. These subjects include employability skills, professional communication, and a substantial industry practice component. For students studying at the Sydney or Melbourne campuses, structured work-integrated learning activities are embedded into the curriculum, and opportunities for external work placements may be available based on academic performance.
