Course Curriculum

The Associate Degree of Network Engineering provides students with the technical expertise and practical experience required to design, manage, and maintain essential network systems used across industries and government sectors. Core studies include topics such as operating systems, database concepts, algorithms, cybersecurity, and enterprise network engineering. Common units such as Cultural Capabilities and Design and Innovation: Communicating Technology provide students with broader skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving within diverse professional contexts.The Associate Degree offers flexibility, allowing students to study full-time or part-time, and it is available externally through distance learning for those unable to attend campus regularly. External study requires reliable broadband internet access to engage in online learning activities. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible for direct entry into the third year of Charles Darwin University’s Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours), offering an excellent pathway to advanced qualifications.Graduates of the program are well-prepared for roles such as network engineer, systems administrator, IT support specialist, or cybersecurity technician.
