Course Curriculum

The Graduate Certificate in Public Health at CQUniversity consists of four units, totaling 24 credits, including two core units and two electives. The core units provide a foundational understanding of public health principles and practices. Understanding Public Health (PBHL20001) introduces students to the key concepts, frameworks, and determinants of health, exploring how social, environmental, and economic factors impact population wellbeing. Systems Thinking in Public Health (PBHL20002) develops analytical skills for examining complex health systems, enabling students to understand interactions between different components of public health and design effective interventions.Students then choose two elective units, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific interests or career goals. Electives cover a range of topics relevant to public health, including health policy, community health initiatives, environmental health, and strategies for improving health outcomes across diverse populations.By completing these units, students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to assess, plan, and implement public health strategies in various community and professional settings.
