The Bachelor of Education (Primary) is structured to provide students with a comprehensive and progressive learning journey through 33 core units, combining theory, practice, and professional preparation. The course begins with foundational studies in education, including Development and Learning through Life, Education as a Profession, and Curriculum Foundations and Decision-Making, which introduce students to the role of teachers, curriculum design, and the developmental needs of learners. These placements provide authentic school-based experiences, bridging theory with practice.For those seeking accreditation to teach in Catholic schools, a Catholic Education Strand is available, where students replace four core units with specialised studies in religious education, Catholic school communities, and a dedicated Catholic school placement. This ensures graduates are prepared for roles in both public and Catholic education systems while meeting the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers at the Graduate career stage.
