Course Curriculum

The Master of Sport Management (Professional) is a postgraduate program comprising 12 subjects (120 credit points) along with a 20-week Professional Portfolio, designed to be completed in 92 weeks on a full-time study load of 30 credit points per semester. Intakes are offered in January, May, and September, with study progression potentially varying depending on the start date. In the first year, students focus on the fundamentals of business and sport management, gaining skills in managing organisational behaviour, making financial decisions to maximise value, understanding marketing and sponsorship, and completing one general elective from any Faculty, which may include an international study tour or business internship. In the second year, students explore the role of the sport industry as a provider of products and services, deepen their understanding of sports law and governance, and address the challenges associated with managing high-performance sport. This year also marks the commencement of the 20-week Professional Portfolio, providing hands-on, practical experience in a professional environment. Overall, the program integrates theoretical knowledge with applied practice, preparing graduates for leadership and management roles in the global sports industry.
