The finance program is structured across four semesters and is designed to gradually build expertise in finance and investment while allowing students flexibility through directed electives. The structure described refers specifically to a January start. In Semester 1, students begin with a core subject that introduces the fundamental concepts of finance and investments, laying the foundation for more advanced topics in later semesters. Alongside this required subject, students choose from a selection of directed electives designed to support and complement their core studies. These electives include Financial Accounting and Company Reporting, Macroeconomics, Linear Models and Applied Econometrics, and Quantitative Methods. Personal Finance is also available as a directed elective and is highly recommended for students at this stage to gain essential financial literacy skills. In Semester 2, students continue building their financial knowledge by engaging with more specialized and challenging finance subjects. While the specific subjects available in this semester can vary, the focus remains on deepening analytical skills and understanding of financial systems. This semester serves as a transition into more complex areas of study, preparing students for the demands of the later stages of the program.Semester 3 involves the completion of three more directed electives. These may include Financial Applications and Analysis, as well as two additional electives not taken during the first semester. This allows students to explore new areas or deepen knowledge in specific fields of interest, contributing to a well-rounded financial education. In Semester 4, students complete the final advanced finance subject, International Finance. This capstone subject integrates macroeconomic theories and financial frameworks to understand global capital markets and the management of risks associated with international financing. Students also finalize their academic journey by completing two more directed electives, rounding out their expertise and preparing them for careers in the global finance industry.
