Course Curriculum

The required subjects for the Graduate Certificate in Criminology consist of a total of forty credit points, designed to provide students with both foundational research skills and specialised knowledge in criminology. All students must complete ten credit points in Research Methods and Data Visualisation, which equips them with essential skills to collect, analyse, and present data effectively. This subject lays the groundwork for conducting high-quality research, interpreting findings, and applying evidence-based approaches within criminology and related fields.In addition, students select thirty credit points from a range of discipline-specific options, allowing them to tailor their studies to areas of interest and professional goals. Available subjects include Transnational Crime, Genocide – A Sociological and Criminological Approach, Cybercrime, Prevention and Public Safety, Victimology, Corrections Practice, Explaining Crime, Forensic Criminology, and Politically Motivated Violence. These subjects provide in-depth exploration of key criminological issues, enabling students to understand and analyse the causes, impacts, and responses to different forms of crime.
