Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Psychological Science provides a strong foundation for a wide range of meaningful and impactful careers focused on understanding, supporting, and improving human behaviour and wellbeing. The degree prepares students for roles where they can make a real difference, including helping individuals affected by trauma, mental health challenges, and physical disabilities, as well as roles that involve predicting and influencing behaviour or enhancing performance in areas such as sport, the workplace, and everyday life. Throughout the program, students develop strong critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills, which are highly transferable and valued across many sectors. An undergraduate qualification in psychology opens career opportunities in private enterprise, government, and community-based organisations, reflecting the broad relevance of psychological knowledge in modern society. Graduates may pursue careers in education through counselling and behaviour management roles, in business through change management and organisational psychology, or in human resources and career guidance by supporting workforce development and wellbeing. For those who choose to continue their studies and achieve full registration as a practicing psychologist, the profession offers further opportunities for specialisation and endorsement. Graduates can specialise in nine recognised areas of practice, including clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, community psychology, counselling psychology, educational and developmental psychology, forensic psychology, health psychology, organisational psychology, and sport and exercise psychology. Together, these pathways allow graduates to tailor their careers to their interests and strengths, while contributing positively to individual wellbeing, organisational effectiveness, and broader community outcomes.
