In the first year of the Bachelor of Property program at Bond University, students begin by completing the university’s core subjects, which are designed to build essential skills in critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and ethical decision-making. These subjects form the foundation for academic success and professional readiness, and are common across all undergraduate programs at Bond. Alongside these core units, students are introduced to key concepts in the property field, starting with subjects in sustainable development and the principles of property. These early courses provide a strong grounding in the economic, social, and environmental considerations that shape the property industry. Students learn how to assess the potential and viability of property developments, understand the basics of land use and planning, and are introduced to the role of sustainability in modern development practices. This foundational year is focused on equipping students with a broad understanding of the property sector and the ability to think critically about its challenges and opportunities. In the second year, students advance into more complex areas of study related to property development. Subjects focus on key industry areas such as valuation, marketing, assessment, and property management. These units are designed to deepen students’ knowledge and prepare them for real-world professional environments. Students also have the opportunity to apply their learning through a Capstone Project in their final semester. This project involves working in an inter-disciplinary team to investigate a real-world urban development or environmental management scenario, allowing students to engage with authentic industry challenges and propose informed, practical solutions. In addition to the core and property-specific subjects, students are able to select one general elective from the full range of available subjects offered by the university, giving them the flexibility to explore complementary interests or broaden their academic experience.
