The structure of the program is designed to progressively develop students’ skills, knowledge, and professional confidence across two years of study, with a strong balance between foundational learning, specialisation, and flexibility. In the first year, students focus on building high-level interpersonal and employability skills that are essential for success in the creative industries and beyond. Through Bond University’s unique core subjects and the Beyond Bond program, which is embedded in every undergraduate degree, students develop strong communication, leadership, and ethical decision-making capabilities while gaining insight into professional expectations. Alongside this foundation, students are introduced to a wide range of engaging and industry-relevant topics that highlight the dynamic, fast-evolving nature of film and television, helping them understand the breadth of creative and technical opportunities within the screen industries. In the second year, students move into more advanced and focused study by selecting a specialisation that aligns with their interests and career goals. A diverse range of specialisations is available, allowing students to concentrate on areas such as broadcast production with a Viz Artist focus, cinematography, fiction or non-fiction directing, fiction editing, filmmaking, producing, production design, or screen studies. This specialisation-driven approach enables students to deepen their technical expertise, creative vision, and professional practice in their chosen field. In addition to their core and specialisation subjects, students complete elective subjects in their second year, choosing six units from across the university, provided they meet subject prerequisites and enrolment requirements. These electives offer valuable flexibility, allowing students to broaden their academic experience, explore complementary disciplines, or further strengthen their chosen specialisation. Together, this structured yet adaptable pathway ensures graduates develop both a strong creative foundation and specialised industry skills, preparing them for diverse and evolving careers in film, television, and related creative fields.
