Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Architectural Design is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in both technical and creative aspects of architecture across three years of study. In the first year, students complete Bond University’s core subjects, which develop essential skills in critical thinking, collaboration, leadership, and integrity. Alongside these, students engage in Creative Design Studios and coursework that explore the role of architecture in shaping cities, suburbs, and living and working spaces. First-year studies also include excursions and site visits to enhance theoretical knowledge, as well as introduction to the Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab), where students receive hands-on training, certifications, and upskilling under the supervision of experienced technical staff. In the second year, students progress to Design Futures Studios, delving deeper into the complexities of designing, modelling, and fabricating architectural solutions. This stage encourages students to explore their own creative flair and develop a signature design style, while building industry connections through exposure to leading designers and architects. Students can also broaden their knowledge by selecting electives from across the university, allowing them to tailor their studies to their interests. In the final year, ongoing mentorship and coaching from lecturers help students consolidate their learning and confidently graduate with a strong combination of technical expertise, creative design skills, and professional experience, equipping them to excel in the dynamic and evolving field of architecture.
