Course Curriculum

The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is an undergraduate degree requiring 24 units, equal to 144 credit points, with each unit valued at six credit points unless otherwise stated. The program is usually studied full time, with students completing four units in each of eight semesters, though a part-time pathway is also available. Students are encouraged to seek guidance from a Course or Strand Convenor to plan their study path, as factors such as unit availability, prerequisites, and the sequence of enrolment may vary across different areas of study.The course structure is divided into three main components. Students must complete four core units, which provide essential academic foundations and support the development of key skills in analysis, communication, and critical thinking. These units establish a base for higher-level study while promoting intellectual growth within a Christian worldview.In addition, students complete 16 study area units, which include combinations of majors, minors, or specialisations chosen from a wide range of humanities, social sciences, and creative or visual arts disciplines. This component enables students to both broaden their knowledge across different fields and build depth in selected areas of interest, equipping them with valuable research, problem-solving, and reflective skills.Finally, students select four elective units, chosen from any undergraduate program, subject to prerequisite requirements. Electives give students the flexibility to either complement their main field of study or explore new areas outside their chosen discipline.Overall, the BA balances structure and flexibility, offering students the opportunity to develop academic, creative, and professional skills while tailoring their studies to personal goals. The program provides a strong foundation for diverse career pathways and further postgraduate study, preparing graduates to engage thoughtfully and effectively in a wide range of professional and community contexts.
