This Human Resource Management (HRM) degree program spans three years and integrates business fundamentals, HR specialisation units, core curriculum study, community engagement, and professional experience. In Year 1 Semester 1, students begin with foundational business units: Money Matters, Information Technology in Action, Managing Markets, and Managing People and Organisations. These units establish a strong base in business, finance, digital literacy, marketing, and management, all of which are essential for further study in HRM and organisational leadership. In Year 1 Semester 2, the focus shifts toward HR with Organisational Behaviour and Evidence-Based Decision Making. These units build understanding of employee behaviour in workplace settings and how decisions can be guided by data and evidence. A general elective allows for exploration of a subject outside the core HR curriculum. Students also begin their ethical and reflective learning journey with the first core curriculum unit, designed to enhance critical thinking about society and the individual’s role in it.Year 2 strengthens the HRM focus. Semester 1 includes units on Performance Planning and Development, Introduction to HRM, and Organisational Health and Wellbeing. These subjects explore how to develop and support employees while maintaining workplace health and safety. Semester 2 continues this progression with units in Recruitment, Selection and Remuneration, Employment Relations and Legal Frameworks, and Governance, Risk and Operations Management. Students also complete a community engagement unit, where they apply skills in real-world settings to benefit local organisations. In Year 3, students advance into strategic thinking with Sustainable HRM and Global Stakeholders, Organisational Change for Sustainability, and Strategic Management. A second core curriculum unit is also completed to deepen reflection on ethics and justice. The program ends with Strategic HRM: Metrics and Analytics, a final general elective, and a professional experience unit that prepares students for the workplace by providing hands-on experience. This structure ensures graduates are well-equipped for careers in HR and organisational leadership.
