This degree program spans over three years and requires students to complete a structured combination of specified business units, specialisation units, core curriculum units, electives, and community engagement. In Year 1 Semester 1, students begin with foundational business units including Money Matters, Information Technology in Action, Managing Markets, and Managing People and Organisations. These subjects establish essential knowledge in finance, marketing, management, and digital literacy. In Semester 2, students move into specialisation with units like Accounting Foundations and Introduction to Business Law, alongside their first core curriculum unit and a general elective, allowing for some exploration of other academic interests. In Year 2 Semester 1, the focus shifts to financial and economic principles through units such as Principles of Finance, Economics, and Financial Accounting. A second general elective offers students the chance to broaden their skill set. Semester 2 continues with more advanced specialisation in Corporate Accounting, Company Law, and Business Data Analysis, alongside the community engagement unit. This unit provides students with hands-on experience working with community organisations, fostering both professional and interpersonal skills.Year 3 deepens the specialisation with units such as Accounting Information Systems and Taxation Law in the first semester, alongside a third general elective and the second core curriculum unit. These core units encourage ethical reasoning and global awareness, aligning academic knowledge with societal challenges. In the final semester, students complete their major studies with Auditing, Strategic Management Accounting, a fourth general elective, and a professional experience unit. This final unit allows students to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting, building career-ready competencies. The program’s structure ensures a balance between technical expertise, ethical understanding, practical experience, and interdisciplinary learning, preparing graduates for diverse careers in accounting, finance, and related fields.
