The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (No Major or Minor) at ACU provides a comprehensive foundation in the biological and chemical sciences, equipping students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to explore the mechanisms of human health and disease. This program emphasizes a strong understanding of cell biology, human biology, chemistry, biochemistry, pathophysiology, microbiology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and human genetics, enabling students to analyze complex biological processes and disease pathways. Through hands-on laboratory experiences embedded across the course, students develop critical technical skills in experimental design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation, ensuring they are prepared for professional work in biomedical research and health-related industries. The program also focuses on developing essential scientific communication and career readiness skills, with dedicated units in communicating ideas in science and career skills for biomedical scientists. Students engage with ethical considerations and real-world issues in human health through units that explore ethical dilemmas and community engagement, promoting responsible and reflective practice.
