Part A of the Bachelor of Arts requires students to complete exactly two Arts majors, each worth 80 credit points. These majors cover a wide range of study areas across the humanities, social sciences, creative arts, and interdisciplinary fields, giving students the flexibility to shape their degree according to their interests and career goals.Students can choose from majors such as Archaeology, Business Studies, Design and Technologies, Drama, English, Geography, Environment and Society, History, Languages, Legal Studies, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Politics and International Relations, Psychology, Sociology, Sustainability, Study of Religions, Theological Studies, and Visual Arts. Some majors have specific availability conditions. Archaeology is offered at selected campuses and online. Design and Technologies is only available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Creative Arts and Secondary Teaching courses. The Legal Studies major is restricted to students who transfer from a Bachelor of Laws or an equivalent program and who have completed the necessary approved units. The Languages major includes options such as Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, or other approved languages, and may require cross-institutional study depending on availability.Students may also choose to add minors in areas such as Sociology or Geography to broaden their academic experience. Overall, Part A provides a diverse and adaptable academic structure that allows students to specialise in their chosen fields while also building strong interdisciplinary skills that are valuable in many professional contexts.
