The program is structured over three years, with students completing a total of 240 credit points through a combination of specified units, core curriculum units, and community engagement. In the first year, students build a solid foundation in business and information technology. Units such as Information Technology in Action, Money Matters, Managing Markets, and Managing People and Organisations introduce key business principles and digital literacy. In the second semester, students progress to Business Data Analysis, Introduction to Business Law, Principles of Finance, and Accounting Foundations, which deepen their understanding of financial and legal frameworks.In the second year, the focus shifts to intermediate and advanced concepts. In the first semester, students complete their first core curriculum unit, followed by Financial Accounting, Financial Institutions Risk Management, and Economics. These units prepare students for complex business decision-making and introduce more technical accounting and finance content. The second semester includes Corporate Accounting, Company Law, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Finance, and Portfolio Management. These units emphasize the application of knowledge in real-world contexts and explore emerging trends in finance and regulation.In the final year, students continue to build expertise while engaging in community and professional experiences. In the first semester, they take Taxation Law, the community engagement unit BIPX202, Accounting Information Systems, and their second core curriculum unit. This combination allows students to apply their academic learning in social and ethical contexts. In the last semester, students complete advanced units such as Auditing, Strategic Management Accounting, and Emerging Technologies in Finance. They also undertake BIPX301, a professional experience unit, which provides practical workplace exposure. The progression of units is carefully sequenced with prerequisites to ensure students develop skills in a structured and logical order, preparing them for careers in accounting, finance, or broader business environments.
