Course Curriculum

The Graduate Diploma of Project Management is a postgraduate program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in modern project management practices and methodologies. To complete the qualification, students must successfully complete eight units—seven core units and one elective—totalling 64 credit points.The core units cover essential areas of project management, equipping students with the capabilities to manage complex projects from initiation through to delivery. Key subjects include project management fundamentals, enterprise and resource planning, constraint management, and procurement, quality, and risk management. These units offer students the skills to manage time, cost, scope, and quality in dynamic environments, using both traditional and contemporary methods.Advanced core units such as project delivery and procurement, project integration and change management, and research methodology and data analysis build on foundational knowledge and prepare students to apply strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making to real-world project challenges. These units emphasise leadership, stakeholder communication, and organisational change—key competencies required for managing modern projects effectively.Students must also choose one elective from a list of options, allowing them to tailor their studies to their career goals. Recommended electives include venture and project finance, business strategy management, and strategic portfolio management. Other options span enterprise operations, international business, business law, and enterprise information systems. These electives enhance students’ understanding of the business context in which projects operate and support the development of cross-functional knowledge.This program is ideal for professionals aiming to advance their careers in project management or transition into new roles within project-based environments. Graduates of the Graduate Diploma will be equipped with the technical and strategic skills to manage projects across a variety of industries, and may choose to continue their studies in a master’s degree to further expand their expertise.
