Course Curriculum

The Graduate Diploma of Business Management consists of a total of eight units, equivalent to 64 credit points. To qualify for the award, students must successfully complete seven core units along with one elective unit from a list of options. The course is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in business principles, leadership, and analytical thinking, preparing them for mid-level roles in diverse business environments or as a pathway to further studies such as a Master of Business Administration.The core units include Ethical, Legal and Industrial Frameworks, which provides an overview of legal and ethical responsibilities in the business landscape, and Applied Accounting and Financial Management, which introduces students to financial decision-making and reporting. Information Systems and Data Analysis focuses on the use of technology and data in driving business performance and has a co-requisite relationship with the ethics unit. Leadership and Influence builds the interpersonal and strategic skills required for effective leadership. Supplier and Consumer Behaviour and Marketing and Communications offer insight into customer dynamics and effective market engagement. Lastly, Research Methodology and Data Analysis equips students with essential research and analytical skills and can only be taken after completing 24 credit points.Students also choose one elective unit from a diverse range, allowing for specialisation based on their interests or career goals. Options include Enterprise Operations Management, International Business, and several project management-focused units such as Project Management Profession, Enterprise and Resource Planning, Project Constraint Management, and Procurement, Quality and Risk Management. Each elective carries 8 credit points and may be taken without prerequisites unless otherwise specified.Overall, this diploma program is designed to develop a well-rounded business skill set and serves as a strong stepping stone for students aiming to further their academic or professional careers in business and management.
