The Bachelor of 2D Animation at AIT is a comprehensive program designed to mirror the workflows and practices of leading animation studios, preparing students for a professional career in the animation industry. In Year 1, students begin by mastering fundamental drawing techniques, visual storytelling, and animation mechanics. Courses like Creative Drawing Lab, Screen Evolution, Visual Storytelling, and Concept Design help students develop core animation skills, such as iterative design, creative thinking, scriptwriting, and character development. They also gain experience with industry-standard software and learn how to respond to feedback and manage production processes. In Year 2, the program dives deeper into specialized areas, including sound design, motion graphics, and 2D rigging. Students create animated effects and develop background layouts while exploring the cultural and theoretical foundations of animation in the Culture and Creativity subject. This phase emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, project management, and professional communication. In the final year, students shift focus to career readiness and innovation. Through the Professional Freelancing subject, they learn to operate as independent creatives, gaining insights into legal, financial, and promotional aspects of the industry.
